Summary
Hoylu is a digital whiteboard tool that allows teams to collaborate in real-time on an infinite canvas. Basing off of university research work, Hoylu provides enterprise solutions to remote work in a simple and engaging way.
My role is to scale and transform the experience to various screen sizes and use scenarios.
Time frame: July 2019 - May 2021
Role: UX Designer
Skills: User Research, Prototyping & Testing, Interaction Design
Problem
Hoylu Workspace is originated from a design concept that primarily focuses on large touch walls. However, the interaction and ergonomics show limitations in other use cases. Therefore, I was responsible for introducing a new user interface model to fit various devices.
Challenge
How can we optimize the product for PC users?
01 Research
While it is easy enough for people to collaborate in front of the large touch-wall in the office, 85% of the users access Hoylu workspace remotely from PCs and laptops.
I first investigated why the product had a disappointing performance on these devices.
Despite the usability issues discovered, it’s still vital to retain the uniqueness and branding value of the original eye menu
